1. Summary

Orfeo Radar scans the WiFi network your phone is connected to, so it can show you which devices are on it (router, other phones, printers, cameras, etc.). All scanning happens inside your own local network, between your phone and those devices: no account, no server of ours, no ads.

The one exception is the speed test, the only feature that intentionally reaches the internet, since there is no other way to measure download/upload speed: it uses Cloudflare's public service, with no account or server of ours involved (see section 2).

2. Data we process

We do not collect personal data on a server. What the app discovers, or what you save (names, notes), stays in the phone's private storage.

Android permissions

PermissionWhy
WiFi / network state, multicastKnow which network you're on and search it for devices (mDNS/SSDP/NetBIOS)
Approximate/precise locationAndroid requires this permission to read the WiFi network name (SSID), even though the app does not use or store your location for anything. Without it, scanning, ping, etc. still work; only the network name is not shown.
InternetOpen connections to devices on your own network and, only if you use it, the speed test
NotificationsOnly if you enable the "new device" alert in Settings; off by default

Speed test

This is the only feature that connects outside your local network. It uses Cloudflare's public measurement service to calculate download, upload and latency. Orfeo Radar has no server of its own for this and adds no identifier of yours to that request; Cloudflare's own terms and privacy policy apply to that specific connection.

Background monitoring

If you enable the "new device" alert in Settings, the app repeats the same network scan every 15 minutes in the background (using Android's WorkManager) so it can notify you. It is still the same local scan described above; none of it leaves the phone. Off by default.

3. Legal basis (GDPR)

4. Retention

Data stays on the phone until you delete it from Settings ("Clear device history"), forget a specific device, or uninstall the app.

Crashes and usage (Firebase)

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, by Google, to receive crash reports and anonymous usage statistics (which screens and actions are used and whether the purchase screen was shown). This sends a Firebase-generated installation identifier, the device model and the Android version. Your name, email or the content you handle in the app are never sent. This data is used only to fix errors and improve the app, never for advertising. Google processes it as a data processor under the Firebase privacy policy. Crash reports are kept for 90 days and usage statistics for up to 14 months.

5. Sharing

We do not share anything the app discovers or stores. The only third-party connection is the speed test (Cloudflare, section 2), and only when you run it. If you export the CSV or share a device's details, you decide where it goes.

6. Your rights

You can clear history, forget specific devices, or uninstall the app at any time. GDPR requests: soporte@orfeovirtual.com.

7. Children

Orfeo Radar is not directed at children under 13.
